Consume Her

Consume Her is a piece about capitalism in the art gallery/museum and the common occurrence of craft made works seen and sold primarily in gift shops opposed to being viewed within a gallery exhibition.

Imagining if a teapot and mug were seen in an exhibition where the object was made by the crafts person and not commissioned by another artist, what would be seen in the gift shop? My answer was mini ceramic teapot and mug key chains. This work was part of a group exhibition at the Mary E. Black Gallery called 15 Monologues.
